SUN AND MOON

you were the sun and i was the moon

always shining a little less than you

i sent you a shooting star

and you burnt it like a cigar

you were so bright, and i, dull

my light was so minimal

and you sent me a shooting star

and i saved it in a jar

the difference of us was a lost light

a star that was no longer bright

i sent you a shooting star

you threw it back and gave me a scar

you were yellow, and i was gray

from happy to sad, it would always replay

you sent me a shooting star

and this time i watched it go far

you were the sun, and i, the moon

you decided that the dark just wasn't for you
